The Paramount+ series launches today, March 31, but fans already know John’s arc after his recent social media update. Last Friday, he shared photos of himself and Sarah in front of Tower Bridge at the show’s launch party. Captioned ‘Here’s to a new chapter and making memories with the best girl xxx,’ the post makes his on-screen cliffhanger kiss from the trailer obsolete.
Insiders confirm the reveal has undermined the series’ mystery. Cast members were urged to preserve intrigue around ex reunions and hookups to draw audiences, but John’s excitement led to the premature announcement. Producers remain frustrated, though sources note it was unintentional.
John Reflects on Rekindled Romance
John credits the Tenerife-filmed dating show with helping him and Sarah address past relationship regrets. Reuniting face-to-face brought positive feelings, he shared, as they had always gotten along post-breakup.
“She has tried dating different people and so did I, but then at the same time you don’t know all you had until they’re gone,” John explained. “I know it’s a classic saying, but then you realise that she’s come all the way out here and she’s taken time off work to be here, so that speaks volumes for me.”
He emphasized personal growth: “I’m sure a lot of my exes have regrets for not doing enough to keep me around, you know, I’m a keeper.” The experience allowed him to approach the relationship differently, now in a new life stage.
