A Venezuelan migrant accused of attacking an 85-year-old girl in her Gold Coast constructing and later focusing on different victims within the Loop and Boystown has been detained following his arrest at a downtown pawn store.

Ignacio Linares-Rodriguez, 40, allegedly trailed the aged girl into her constructing within the 100 block of West Oak Avenue round 7 a.m. on July 25. As soon as inside, he allegedly tore a bracelet from her wrist, tried to seize her necklace, and tried to steal her ring. On August 9, he allegedly climbed into a person’s pickup truck within the 3700 block of North Halsted Avenue whereas the sufferer was asleep and proceeded to make use of the person’s cellphone to make calls. When the sufferer awoke, Linares-Rodriguez bolted from the truck with the cellphone, prosecutors stated. He was allegedly carrying the cellphone when police arrested him on the pawn store.
