Services for Michel Mizrahi
A funeral service for 68-year-old civilian Michel Mizrahi is set to take place Wednesday morning at Paperman & Sons funeral home. Tributes from those who knew him have highlighted the significant impact he had on his community.
Tribute for Officer Mohamed Lamine Benredouane
A funeral prayer for 34-year-old police officer Mohamed Lamine Benredouane, who died in the line of duty, will be held around 5 p.m. ET at the Islamic Centre of Quebec. Following the prayer, mourners will proceed to the Laval Cemetery for his burial.
In the coming weeks, the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM) is also planning a formal ceremony to pay tribute to their fallen colleague, Officer Benredouane. This official recognition is anticipated to occur in approximately two weeks.
Investigation Update
Authorities have confirmed the death of the individual suspected of carrying out the fatal shooting. Limited information has been released regarding the suspect, identified by Quebec’s coroner’s office as a 25-year-old man from Lethbridge, Alberta. Investigators have not yet disclosed a potential motive for the incident or the reason for his presence in Montreal.
