Ozzy Osbourne Receives Posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award
Sharon Osbourne and her daughter Kelly delivered an emotional speech accepting the Lifetime Achievement Award for the late Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne at the BRIT Awards ceremony.
Dolly Parton introduced the duo via a pre-recorded message from Nashville, paving the way for tributes that highlighted Ozzy’s enduring legacy. The rock icon passed away in July 2025 at age 76, just two weeks after his farewell concert at Villa Park stadium in Birmingham.
Sharon Osbourne’s Touching Remarks
Standing onstage with Kelly by her side, Sharon described her husband as “the most humble egomaniac you could ever meet.” She expressed honor in accepting the award on his behalf, adding, “God knows, I wish he was here to accept it himself.”
Sharon shared stories of Ozzy’s journey from a working-class Birmingham neighborhood to global stardom. “He rose to become one of the most recognizable and respected musicians of his generation,” she said, noting his highs and lows but relentless drive for improvement. Despite worldwide tours, Ozzy remained a proud “Brummie” whose heart stayed with England.
She accepted the award for Ozzy’s family, collaborating musicians, and devoted fans who lined Birmingham streets during his memorial. “If Ozzy was here tonight, he would be showing us that gorgeous smile,” Sharon said. “He left us one amazing body of work that will never be forgotten by the country that made him.”
Kelly Osbourne’s Emotional Words
Kelly then took the microphone, thanking the audience: “Thank you for loving my father as much as we do.” She added a lighthearted nod to her father’s football loyalty, declaring, “Up the Villa and Birmingham!” Playful boos erupted from the Manchester-heavy crowd, prompting Sharon to laugh, “I knew you were gonna get that. I told you.”
Tribute Performances Close the Show
Robbie Williams followed with a powerful rendition of Ozzy’s hit “No More Tears,” fronting a supergroup featuring Adam Wakeman, Robert Trujillo, Tommy Clufetos, and Zakk Wylde. Massive images of Ozzy projected behind the stage as Williams delivered the hard rock performance, drawing praise for its fitting tribute to end the ceremony.
The event celebrated Ozzy’s monumental contributions to music, with Sharon and Kelly’s speech underscoring his unbreakable spirit and influence.
