Alex Warren teamed up with James Blunt for a captivating orchestral performance of ‘Ordinary’ at the 2026 BRIT Awards. The event took place at Manchester’s Co-op Live Arena on Saturday night, February 28.

Award Highlights

Olivia Dean emerged as the night’s top winner, securing four prestigious awards, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year for ‘Rein Me In’ alongside Sam Fender.

The International Song of the Year went to ROSÉ and Bruno Mars’ ‘APT,’ which triumphed over strong contenders like Warren’s ‘Ordinary.’

Standout ‘Ordinary’ Performance

Undeterred by the loss, Warren delivered a powerful rendition of ‘Ordinary’ later in the show. Blunt accompanied him on piano, supported by a rich string ensemble, creating a memorable moment.

‘Ordinary’ dominated British radio in 2025 as the most-played track and marked the longest-running UK Number One single by a US artist this decade. Data from late 2025 also confirmed it as the year’s most-streamed song, surpassing 750 million plays.

Alex Warren stated ahead of the performance: “The UK is where ‘Ordinary’ first broke and changed my life last year. I am so grateful for all the love from my fans there, and I can’t wait to bring a big performance to the BRITs’ stage for the very first time.”

Other Memorable Moments

Robbie Williams fronted an all-star tribute to Ozzy Osbourne’s ‘No More Tears,’ honoring the late Black Sabbath icon with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Tim Burgess paid respects to The Stone Roses’ Mani. Mark Ronson, recipient of the Outstanding Contribution to Music award, performed a career-spanning medley with Dua Lipa and Ghostface Killah.

Wolf Alice’s Ellie Rowsell urged greater support for UK grassroots music venues. Geese’s Max Bassin criticized ICE and advocated for a free Palestine in their speeches.

Rosalía surprised audiences with Björk for a stunning rendition of ‘Berghain.’
