Perrie Edwards Celebrates Lavish Wedding in Portugal with Multiple Stunning Attires
Singer Perrie Edwards has shared further captivating glimpses from her recent opulent wedding ceremony in Portugal, revealing her third exquisite bridal gown. The 32-year-old artist exchanged vows with footballer Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, also 32, on Saturday.
A Weekend of Festivities and Fashion
The weekend celebrations kicked off with a vibrant ‘cocktail hour’ in the sun, a moment captured and shared by Edwards on Instagram. For this pre-wedding gathering, she showcased a dazzling embellished minidress adorned with pearl studs and intricate gold stitching. The ensemble was further complemented by a matching jacket, stylish orange sunglasses, and delicate lace heels. Edwards was pictured alongside her sister, Caitlin, her mother, Debbie, and her extensive bridal party, all enjoying champagne and cocktails to mark the beginning of their multi-day celebration.
Edwards captioned the moment, stating, “Cocktail hour in the sun. The perfect way to start our dream wedding weekend.” She also shared a video montage featuring her bridal party throughout the wedding festivities, from the cocktail hour to the main event.
A Touch of Sentimentality Amidst the Glamour
The singer, who recently welcomed her second child, daughter Alanis, in January, shared a touching anecdote about a missing diamond necklace. This sentimental piece, a gift from Oxlade-Chamberlain after the birth of their son Axel, had disappeared the day before she traveled to Portugal. Edwards recounted her distress, admitting she was convinced it had been stolen. However, a moment of serendipity occurred on the wedding morning. As hairstylist Aaron Carlo was working on her hair extensions, he discovered the precious locket entangled within them. Edwards described the emotional reunion, saying, “I sobbed. I was so happy and so relieved. It set the tone – I knew from that moment it was gonna be the best day ever.”
A Trio of Bridal Elegance
For the ceremony itself, Edwards opted for an all-over lace gown featuring a corset bodice, designed by Dana Harel. This was followed by a glamorous, sparkling gown by luxury bridal label Galia Lahav for the evening reception. The bridal party were dressed in satin blue gowns, which Edwards affectionately referred to as “my something blue.”
The ceremony took place in a picturesque Catholic church in the village of Estoi. The Dana Harel creation, purchased from Browns Bride in London, featured a form-skimming silhouette with a pooling train and a removable bolero with trailing lace sleeves. Post-ceremony, Edwards changed into the Galia Lahav creation, a crystal-embellished floor-length dress, paired with Jimmy Choo heels for the first dance.
Guest List and Celebrations
Notable attendees included Little Mix bandmates Leigh-Anne Pinnock and Jade Thirlwall, though Jesy Nelson was absent. Thirlwall reportedly departed early due to festival commitments. Edwards and Pinnock were seen enthusiastically dancing to En Vogue, recalling choreography. The wedding welcomed 140 guests, including their children Axel and Alanis, and fellow footballers Mason Mount, Danny Welbeck, and Kieran Gibbs.
Both Edwards and Oxlade-Chamberlain became emotional as she walked down the aisle, with Edwards stating, “We both just cried our eyes out.”
