Latest Shooting Leaves Two Injured in Residential Area

Police discovered two victims with gunshot wounds during an early morning response to a Redwood Street residence in Prince George. Authorities confirmed the Tuesday 3:05 AM incident marked the city’s third targeted firearms violence case within 21 days.

Emergency crews transported both injured individuals to hospital for treatment, though officials haven’t disclosed their current medical conditions. Investigators combed the 3300-block area for evidence and requested public assistance locating surveillance footage or witnesses who observed suspicious activity.

Police Confirm Targeted Pattern in Recent Violence

“While this appears specifically targeted, all residents should remain vigilant about neighborhood activities,” stated Corporal Jennifer Cooper during a police briefing. “Community safety improves when people report suspicious behavior immediately.”

Recent Timeline of Violence

The Redwood Street incident follows two previous shootings:

  • January 30: Gunfire erupted near Ahbau Street with no injuries reported
  • January 17: A 37-year-old man sustained serious non-fatal injuries on Porter Avenue

Enhanced Anti-Gang Measures Implemented

Police announced specialized patrols focusing on neighborhoods experiencing repeated violence. “Our Problem Oriented Policing team is conducting targeted enforcement against individuals with known organized crime connections,” authorities explained. These measures aim to disrupt criminal networks while increasing visible police presence.

Investigators remained at the Redwood Street scene throughout Tuesday, collecting forensic evidence and interviewing potential witnesses. The public can contact the Prince George RCMP detachment with any relevant information about recent incidents.
