Urgent Product Safety Alerts Issued for Numerous Retailers

Consumers are being warned about several product recalls recently announced by the Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS). While some items pose minor concerns, others present significant risks, including serious chemical hazards and potential fire dangers. Shoppers with any of the affected products are strongly advised to cease using them immediately and return them to their point of purchase for a full refund.

Recalls have impacted a wide array of retailers, with notable brands such as Argos, Amazon, and Currys among those involved. The latest product withdrawals highlight critical safety issues that necessitate immediate consumer action.

Serious Chemical Concerns: Vice Versa Boutique Leo Face Sticker

The Vice Versa Boutique Leo Face Sticker has been withdrawn from the market due to elevated levels of phthalates. According to the OPSS, these chemicals can pose health risks to children, potentially affecting their reproductive systems. The product markings and warning labels were also deemed insufficient. Consumers in possession of this item are urged to discontinue its use and contact the distributor for a refund.

Fire Risk Identified in Vestel UK Television Plugs

A significant fire risk has been identified with certain plugs used in various televisions manufactured by Vestel UK. The issue stems from the plug’s fuse failing to meet the requirements of BS 1362. Consumers can visit a dedicated Television Safety Notice portal to request a free replacement accessory, such as a replacement power cable or fuse.

Affected Television Brands and Models:

Toshiba Televisions were sold through numerous retailers including Amazon, AO.com, ASDA, Currys, John Lewis Partnership, Tesco stores, and Morrisons stores between November 2024 and November 2025. Affected models include a wide range of series such as 32WF2F53DB, 32WV2463DB, and up to 70QF5D53DB, among others.

JVC Televisions, manufactured by Vestel Elektronik for Currys Group Ltd under license, were sold by Currys Group Ltd from November 2024 to November 2025. Specific models include LT-32CT150, LT-50CT650, and LT-65CT650, with variations noted.

Mitchell & Brown Televisions were sold by TV & Video Direct between March 2025 and September 2025. This includes models like JB-43QLED1811LIN and JB-32DU1811, with a broad selection of QLED and DU1811 series televisions affected.

Polaroid Televisions were sold by ASDA Stores Ltd from May 2025. The P50UPF2024A model is subject to this recall.

Finlux Televisions were available through The Very Group (Shop Direct) from July 2025 to November 2025. Affected models include 50MU25F and 55MU24F.

Techwood Televisions were sold by AO.com from December 2024. The 32AO11FHDF and 55AO11UHDF models are included in this recall.

Panasonic Televisions were sold by Amazon and Currys Group Ltd between December 2024 and September 2025. A substantial list of models, including TB-32S45AEY, TB-43W61AEY, and TB-65Z60AEB, are affected.

Bush TiVo Televisions Also Affected by Fire Risk

An additional range of Vestel UK plugs used in Bush TiVo televisions has also been recalled due to a fire risk. Similar to the other Vestel plugs, the fuse in these units does not comply with BS 1362 standards. These products were sold by Argos from December 2024 to March 2026. Affected products include a variety of Bush televisions, such as the 32IN FULL HD TIVO FREELY TV and the 65 INCH UHD QLED TIVO.

IKEA Recalls Stirring Spatula and Garlic Press

IKEA is recalling its 365+ HJÄLTE Stirring Spatula (Article number: 401.494.62) due to the potential migration of primary aromatic amines (PAA) above permissible limits, posing a health risk. Products with a date stamp of 2445 (purchased after November 2024) are affected. Customers should stop using the spatula and return it to any IKEA store for a full refund without needing proof of purchase.

Furthermore, the IKEA 365+ VÄRDEFULL Garlic Press (Article number: 201.521.58), with date stamps from 2411 to 2522, is being recalled due to the risk of injury. The OPSS stated that small metal fragments may detach during use, potentially contaminating food and causing injuries. The product does not meet the General Product Safety Regulations 2005 requirements.
