A single-engine TBM 8 aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing on a Manitoba highway Thursday evening, coming to rest in a ditch. The incident occurred on Highway 45, east of Sandy Lake, as the plane was traveling from The Pas to Brandon.
Emergency Landing Details
Local RCMP detachments received notification of the aircraft attempting to land on the highway at approximately 7:10 p.m. The plane ultimately stopped in a ditch on the north side of Highway 45.
Injuries and Investigation
Four individuals were on board the aircraft at the time of the emergency landing. One person was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were believed to be minor, according to police statements.
The Transportation Safety Board has been informed of the emergency landing and is expected to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
