The US Military soldier caught viciously beating a 3-year-old boy advised police he began hitting the kid as a result of he refused to work on his ABCs, in keeping with charging paperwork.

Paul Thames, a 29-year-old lively responsibility sergeant with the first Cavalry Division stationed at Fort Hood, Texas, was caught on a neighbor’s Ring digicam punching the boy repeatedly within the torso with “extreme power” exterior of a Waco house constructing, police wrote in an arrest warrant obtained by KWTX.

Thames, who had simply moved in with the kid and his mom just a few months in the past, advised police after his arrest Friday that the boy didn’t need to work on his ABCs so he took him exterior to be disciplined.

A US Military official at Fort Hood stated they’re conscious of the alleged abuse.

Thames is charged with damage to a toddler and his bond was set at $200,000 for the cost.

He stays locked up on the McLennan County Jail on a federal detainer.
