Tiger Woods remains committed to resuming his professional golf career despite a recent DUI arrest that raised questions about his future in the sport. The 50-year-old golf icon faces charges stemming from an incident on March 27, when he flipped his SUV while attempting to pass a truck and trailer at high speed in Jupiter Island.

Arrest and Legal Proceedings

Responding officers discovered two white pills in Woods’ pocket, later identified as the opioid hydrocodone. Authorities noted his bloodshot and glassy eyes with extremely dilated pupils, signs of impairment. Woods refused a urine test, leading to charges of driving under the influence, property damage, and refusal to submit to a lawful test. He entered a not guilty plea and faces a court appearance on May 5.

Recovery Efforts Underway

Woods currently undergoes intensive treatment in Zurich, Switzerland. Sources close to him report encouraging progress following rigorous rehab. A golf insider indicates Woods is desperate to return to the sport once treatment concludes.

The insider stated: “He knows he needs to beat his issues and also deal with the pain from not only playing golf but also from his regular fitness schedule. People around him are supporting him, both personally and professionally. All of this is helping him deal with it enough to get through it.”

Another source affirms Woods still possesses the talent for golf. “He just wants to get better in all areas of his life,” the source added.

Vanessa Trump’s Unwavering Support

Girlfriend Vanessa Trump, ex-wife of Donald Trump Jr., stands firmly by Woods’ side after 18 months together. Speculation about relationship strain post-arrest proved unfounded, as she publicly affirmed her support.

A source noted: “Tiger needed to do intensive therapy, and his girlfriend Vanessa has been in favor of it. She still supports this and supports him. She loves him and knows that private treatment was necessary.” The couple shares a strong bond, with Vanessa enduring challenges while remaining supportive.

One week after the arrest, Vanessa posted a loving photo of them on Instagram, captioning it: “Love you.” A close source revealed Woods communicates via calls or Zooms with a select few, including Vanessa, his children, and agent Mark Steinberg. He works with a pain management doctor to address body pain without addictive opioids and responds well to treatment.

Focus on Recovery Over Competitions

Prior to the arrest, Woods eyed a potential Masters appearance but prioritized recovery. “Tiger paid casual attention to the Masters, but is more focused on recovery,” a source said. He follows a 90-day program with flexibility to leave early, receiving both physical and psychological care.

In bodycam footage, Woods told deputies he hoped to compete at the Masters, adding it “depends on y’all.” Recently, at the TGL finals, he discussed recovery challenges: “I’ve been trying. It’s just this body doesn’t recover like when I was 24, 25. It doesn’t mean I’m not trying—I’ve been trying for a while. I’ve had a couple of back injuries the past year that I’ve had to fight through and it’s taken some time. But I keep trying.”

History of Driving Incidents

This marks the fourth vehicular mishap for Woods. In 2017, Florida police arrested him for DUI after finding him slumped in his car with five drugs, including painkillers. A 2021 California crash severely injured his right leg, requiring multiple surgeries. In 2009, he crashed into a fire hydrant fleeing his home amid affair revelations with then-wife Elin Nordegren.
