Tyson Fury heads out early to Tesco on the Isle of Man, dressed in Crocs and pyjamas, as preparations ramp up for his daughter Venezuela’s wedding scheduled for Saturday.
Amid Family Tensions Over Young Bride
The 37-year-old boxing champion navigates a family dispute after his father, John Fury, deems 16-year-old Venezuela too immature to marry 19-year-old Noah Price. Despite the rift, Fury smiles while stocking up on strawberries, juice, and water, loading his trolley into his van before returning home.
Proposal and Swift Wedding Plans
Noah proposed to Venezuela at her 16th birthday party last year after dating for a year. The couple quickly began planning their big day. Amateur boxer Noah first sought Tyson’s permission, getting down on one knee in front of family and friends moments later.
Venezuela shares her excitement in a recent TikTok video, trying on her wedding dress and a second outfit. She debates footwear, pondering white New Balance trainers or white Crocs instead of traditional heels: “So guys I just went to try on my wedding dress and my second dress as well. I think it is absolutely unreal, both of them. I’m having a bit of a struggle on what shoes to wear.”
John Fury’s Strong Objections
John Fury, 60, voices firm opposition during a family discussion on At Home With The Furys. Speaking to sons Tyson and Tommy, 27, he reacts to Venezuela dating: “They’re children! I don’t think she’s mature enough for anything like – she’s still a baby.” When Tyson notes she turns 16 soon, John insists: “On my watch a 15-year-old should never have a boyfriend, never.”
Parents’ Support for the Union
Tyson remains unfazed, recalling his own proposal to wife Paris at 18, when she was 17. Paris, 36, defends her daughter on This Morning: “Venezuela is so mature for her years. She’s done so much in such a short time… I can’t deny her because I was 17 when I got engaged. She’s obviously following in my footsteps… I know she’s young. But I think she’s found the person she loves and if she’s happy, I will completely support her.”
Initially surprised, Tyson questions Venezuela: “How can I let a stranger take away my baby?” He emphasizes commitment: “Marriage is forever… So it’s a lifetime commitment and however old you are, 16-year-old, are you ready for a lifetime commitment to somebody you barely know?” Ultimately, he approves, noting Noah’s sensibility.
