Details of Disappearance
Mr. Nicholson was last seen departing his family residence on Puls Place, Horsham, around 4:00 PM on Wednesday, June 17. Newly released surveillance footage captures him walking along Dimboola Road approximately one hour later, at 5:00 PM on the same day.
Both law enforcement and his family have expressed significant concern for his well-being, citing a pre-existing medical condition. Victoria Police have issued a statement urging local residents to thoroughly check any outbuildings or outdoor spaces where he might be taking refuge.
Investigation and Findings
Earlier this week, Horsham Police made a public appeal for further information regarding Mr. Nicholson’s whereabouts. His backpack was discovered near the railway line on Dimboola Road, the same location where he was last seen on CCTV. The backpack contained his mobile phone.
Law enforcement and State Emergency Service personnel have conducted a systematic search of the area where Mr. Nicholson was last observed. While the disappearance is not currently being treated as suspicious, all potential leads are being thoroughly investigated.
Family’s Plea
Aiden Nicholson, Mr. Nicholson’s son, described his father as a “homebody” whose absence is highly unusual. “He’s a bit more of a house person. He doesn’t have a bunch of friends, he doesn’t go out too often,” Aiden stated. “He likes spending time at home talking with the family and playing video games and watching stuff with us, which makes it very challenging to think of where he may have gone.”
He added, “We’re all just very concerned and just hoping that he’s safe. He doesn’t just pop up and leave without telling us where he’s going … which has made us very worried.”
Mr. Nicholson’s son implored the public, stating, “I just hope and pray that anyone who has any sort of evidence or any sort of information at all, no matter how minor, just please reach out to the police station and please just let them know anything at all.” He also acknowledged the supportive response from the local community.
