Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk is confident that Mohamed Salah will receive the send-off he deserves, even if a hamstring injury has ended his playing time this season.

Salah’s Injury Update

The Egyptian forward suffered the injury during Saturday’s victory against Crystal Palace. With just four matches left in the campaign, the 33-year-old might not feature again before departing Anfield this summer. Club officials await scan results to assess the damage.

A premature exit would prevent Salah from playing in Liverpool’s final home game against Brentford, but Van Dijk insists the fans’ appreciation remains undimmed.

Van Dijk’s Optimism

“I know he is doing everything in his power to be back on the pitch as soon as possible,” the centre-back stated. “If you get injured at this stage of the season, especially in the situation he is in, there is only two more home games left for him, it’s a combination of feelings that go through your mind.”

“Hopefully he won’t be long. Maybe he’s back next week, maybe not. I have no idea.”

“He will get the send-off regardless. I don’t think that is the thing at this point, we shouldn’t think too far ahead.”

“Knowing Mo, he is a quick healer and with the right people around him and let’s see.”

Salah’s Liverpool Legacy

Since joining in 2017, Salah has netted 257 goals in 440 appearances, trailing only Ian Rush and Roger Hunt in the club’s all-time scoring charts. He played a pivotal role in Liverpool’s triumphs, including the Champions League, two Premier League titles, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, European Super Cup, and Club World Cup.

His individual honors include three PFA Player of the Year awards and four Premier League Golden Boots.
