Virginia Instructor Shot by 6-Yr-Outdated Pupil Awarded $10 Million by Jury

A Virginia trainer who was shot by her 6-year-old pupil simply scored $10 million in courtroom … after a jury determined a former assistant principal ignored warnings the child had a gun.

Abby Zwerner sued college directors and the varsity board in 2023 — together with ex-assistant principal Ebony Parker — claiming the Richneck Elementary capturing in Newport Information might’ve been fully averted. After six hours of deliberation, the jury of three males and 4 girls agreed Thursday … awarding her $10 million in damages, plus curiosity.

Zwerner’s crew argued Parker had one fundamental job — maintaining the varsity secure — and that a number of academics raised alarms the boy was carrying a weapon in his backpack. However nothing was carried out … till after Zwerner was shot in her first-grade classroom.

The bullet tore via her hand, went straight into her chest, and left her with severe accidents — together with a collapsed lung.
