Eva Longoria and José Bastón Enjoy Romantic Lunch Date
Eva Longoria and her husband José Bastón shared a loving lunch date in sunny Marbella, Spain, on Friday. The 51-year-old actress, set to mark her 10th wedding anniversary with the 57-year-old Mexican businessman next month, appeared stylish in an all-white ensemble.
Longoria paired a linen shirt with matching trousers and casually draped a knitted sweater over her shoulders. Bastón, father to their seven-year-old son Santiago, wore a burgundy gilet layered over a dark sweater and chinos. He shielded his eyes with sunglasses, planted a kiss on her cheek, and gallantly carried her handbag as they strolled hand-in-hand.
Secrets to Their Lasting Marriage
The couple began dating in 2013 and married three years later. Longoria has shared insights into their strong bond, noting they avoid competing for attention and she does not view her husband as her ‘best friend.’
She gushed about him: ‘He makes me laugh, and he’s a really good partner, and he supports me in everything I do.’
Desperate Housewives Co-Star Reveals Early Exit
This sighting follows revelations from Longoria’s former Desperate Housewives co-star Jesse Metcalfe about his brief stint on the show. The 47-year-old actor discussed his experience on the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast with host Amanda Hirsch.
‘I was fired from Desperate Housewives,’ Metcalfe admitted regarding his breakout role as John Rowland, the gardener involved in an affair with Longoria’s character Gabrielle Solis. ‘After the first season they didn’t really know where else to take my storyline.’
Creator Marc Cherry explained, ‘This isn’t Desperate House Gardeners, this is Desperate Housewives, so unfortunately you’re not going to be a series regular moving forward on the show.’ Metcalfe returned for occasional appearances and landed the lead in John Tucker Must Die from 20th Century Fox.
Last August, Metcalfe reflected to People magazine on his big break: ‘I was just kind of riding the wave, you know, because that show really broke me and I had everything coming at me and I was just enjoying it.’
The series, which also starred Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Marcia Cross, and Nicollette Sheridan, faced reports of on-set drama over its eight seasons. Metcalfe remained unaware: ‘I was oblivious to it, basically, you know, because I was just so thrilled to be on a show and just so in the moment. I was just happy to have a job.’
