Court Documents Detail Serious Allegations Against Boxer Amir Khan
Newly filed court documents reveal explosive allegations against former world champion boxer Amir Khan, including claims that he secretly filmed himself during a sexual encounter and subsequently threatened the woman involved. The multi-millionaire athlete, married to former model Faryal Makhdoom, is also alleged to have engaged in sexually explicit communication with at least four other women, according to the legal papers.
These documents form part of the defense strategy for women’s rights activist Faaryal Hussain, who is facing defamation proceedings initiated by Olympic silver medalist Khan, 39, and Ms. Makhdoom. The couple, married since 2013 and parents to three children, are suing Mrs. Hussain for statements she made publicly regarding the alleged interactions.
Accusations of Depression and Suicidal Ideation
The defense papers assert that two of the women allegedly involved with the boxer experienced significant emotional distress, with one reportedly sharing a video online expressing suicidal thoughts following alleged threats from Mr. Khan. Lawyers representing Mrs. Hussain also claim that Ms. Makhdoom, 33, personally threatened and harassed some of these women after learning of their alleged relationships with her husband.
These allegations have surfaced as part of a legal battle where the Khans are suing Mrs. Hussain, who leads the campaign group Our Voice. Mrs. Hussain had previously shared the women’s accounts through social media posts and a podcast interview in 2023, and launched an online petition against what she described as the boxer’s alleged ‘exploitation of women’.
Khans’ Legal Team Denies All Allegations
Representatives for the Khans have vehemently denied all accusations, labeling them as ‘false, defamatory and malicious’ and have stated their intention to vigorously contest the claims in the High Court. The couple’s legal team contends that Mrs. Hussain’s statements have resulted in financial losses and reputational damage, including the cancellation of a planned fourth series of a reality television show featuring the family and Ms. Makhdoom’s reported withdrawal from a popular celebrity competition.
In her legal response, Mrs. Hussain denies defamation and maintains the truthfulness of her statements. The Khans’ legal representatives are expected to file a formal reply to this defense within the next two weeks.
History of Infidelity Allegations
This is not the first time Mr. Khan has faced allegations of infidelity during his 13-year marriage. In 2018, he was accused of a one-night stand, which he strongly denied. A video that surfaced online in 2017, reportedly showing Mr. Khan performing a sexual act, was claimed by him to have been recorded before his marriage.
Details of Alleged Encounters Emerge
One woman, identified in the defense as Woman B, reportedly communicated with Mr. Khan via various social media platforms starting around June 2022. According to the court documents, Mr. Khan allegedly expressed unhappiness in his marriage and shared explicit images. It is claimed that he arranged for Woman B to travel to Dubai, where consensual sexual encounters are alleged to have occurred on at least two occasions. A key allegation is that Mr. Khan secretly filmed himself during one of these encounters without the woman’s knowledge or consent, despite her explicit refusal and attempts to hide her face when she realized she was being recorded.
Another woman, Woman A, described as a beautician and social media influencer, allegedly began communicating with Mr. Khan on Instagram in May 2023. The court papers suggest he promised financial assistance and sent intimate photos. When Woman A declined to send nude pictures in return, she claims Mr. Khan issued a veiled threat by mentioning people in her hometown. Following a newspaper report detailing her claims, Mr. Khan publicly apologized to Ms. Makhdoom and spoke of seeking therapy. He later claimed to be a victim of blackmail, which reportedly led to Woman A facing significant online abuse and experiencing severe depression, to the point of posting a video in a ‘suicidal’ state.
The Khans’ legal team denies these accounts, stating that the claims will be addressed in their formal response. The defense also details allegations involving intimate texts and photographs sent to another British woman in April 2022, which reportedly ceased after her boyfriend intervened. Furthermore, it is alleged that Ms. Makhdoom threatened to ‘name and shame’ another woman, Woman C, upon discovering her alleged affair with Mr. Khan in 2023.
A fifth woman allegedly received messages from Mr. Khan in August 2016, followed by a direct message from Ms. Makhdoom on the same day, reportedly stating, ‘If you dare message or call [Mr Khan] I will destroy you.’ Ms. Makhdoom’s lawyers deny this claim.
Activist’s Motivation and Legal Proceedings
Mrs. Hussain claims she was also subjected to harassment and threats from individuals she believes are connected to the Khans. Her involvement began after being contacted by Woman A and Woman B in July 2023, prompting her to share their allegations online. She states her decision to publish a petition, which has garnered over 1,600 signatures, stemmed from ‘a genuine concern for public safety.’
The Khans’ defamation claim asserts that Mrs. Hussain’s statements have caused ‘serious harm’ to their reputation, citing the significant and lasting stigma associated with such allegations. They are seeking an injunction to prevent further publication of the claims. The case is anticipated to be heard in January.
One of the women whose alleged experiences are detailed in the defense stated she is ‘praying’ for the case to go to court and is prepared to give evidence. Legal representatives for both Mrs. Hussain and the Khans have declined to comment on the ongoing proceedings.
