Christian Dumontet, the estranged husband of Selling Sunset star Christine Quinn, spends $27,000 each month maintaining a vacant Los Angeles mansion they once shared. He seeks sole legal ownership to sell the property and end the ongoing financial burden.
Court Filing Details Financial Strain
Court documents filed Friday in Los Angeles reveal Dumontet, 47, purchased the residence in 2019 as an investment shortly before marrying Quinn, 37. He currently owes $3.5 million on the mortgage and covers additional costs for rent, security, and upkeep.
“This is not sustainable,” Dumontet stated in the filing. “I require immediate court intervention to stop this financial hemorrhaging.”
Dumontet aims to sell the non-income-producing asset quickly to stem losses. He notes Quinn has not contributed financially to the purchase, mortgage, maintenance, or any related expenses.
Family Background and Separation
The couple, parents to four-year-old son Christian, separated in March 2024 amid allegations of domestic violence. Quinn secured a temporary restraining order, leading to Dumontet’s two arrests within hours.
Dumontet, formerly known as Christian Richard, returned to the home at one point and invested thousands in repairs and renovations. Quinn vacated the property around September 2025 and relocated to her native Texas.
Dumontet now resides in France with his girlfriend and their one-year-old son. He emphasizes that Quinn holds no monetary responsibility for the property costs, leaving him to bear the full impact alone.
Quinn’s New Life in Texas
Quinn has settled near family in Texas. In an interview, she shared her relief: “I am really, really grateful to be living here… I have a sister who lives really close to me, and my son has a cousin. I found a wonderful house. I would say it’s, like, 60 percent done, but there’s still some things that I want to do.”
The court denied Dumontet’s emergency request for sole ownership.
