Daniel Dubois captured his second world heavyweight title in a brutal showdown against Fabio Wardley at Manchester’s Co-Op Live Arena. The fight delivered non-stop action, turning the venue into a modern Colosseum filled with thunderous punches and unyielding courage.

Relentless Battle Unfolds

Action ignited just 10 seconds in when Wardley floored Dubois for the first time. Dubois rose resiliently, only to hit the canvas again in the third round. Undeterred, the challenger mounted a ferocious comeback, unleashing a barrage of power shots that tested Wardley’s granite chin.

The contest raged without pause until referee Howard Foster intervened 28 seconds into the 11th round, halting Wardley’s punishment amid heavy bleeding. Wardley, a former white-collar boxer turned champion, refused to yield, absorbing massive blows while his corner struggled to stem the flow from his damaged nose.

Dubois’ Warrior Spirit Shines

“I’m a warrior,” Dubois declared after the stoppage, rejecting doubts about his mental toughness. In victory, he showed sportsmanship, telling the battered Wardley, “Thank you Fabio for making it possible to be part of such a magnificent fight.”

Wardley’s corner provided extra recovery time between rounds, but the damage proved too severe. Foster had no choice but to end the carnage, as Wardley staggered under relentless head shots.

Future Prospects and Rematch Talk

Promoter Frank Warren noted, “All sorts of options are open to Daniel now he has become a two-time world champion in such stunning fashion.” A contractual rematch looms, though Wardley’s recovery timeline remains uncertain.

Dubois joins a rising generation of British heavyweights, including Moses Itauma. While he eyes potential redemption against Oleksandr Usyk, Wardley’s raw power highlights the shift toward young knockout artists filling the heavyweight void left by veterans like Usyk, Tyson Fury, and Anthony Joshua.
