A constellation of music stars, including Grammy-winning rapper 50 Cent, is reportedly scheduled to perform at a private event hosted by Donald Trump Jr.’s members-only club, Executive Branch, in Washington D.C. The event, slated for Friday, precedes Independence Day celebrations and marks a significant gathering ahead of the nation’s 250th anniversary.

Executive Branch: A Hub for Political and Social Circles

Executive Branch, co-owned by Donald Trump Jr., Christopher Buskirk, and Omeed Malik of 1789 Capital, has emerged as a notable venue for political figures and influential personalities. The club, located in the Georgetown neighborhood, has previously hosted high-profile gatherings, including an afterparty for Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to Washington D.C. last November. Attendees at that event included Donald Trump Jr. and his wife, Bettina Trump, alongside prominent figures such as Fox News personalities Bret Baier and Laura Ingraham, and Senators Ashley Moody of Florida and Dave McCormick of Pennsylvania.

The venue has also become a social nexus for individuals associated with the Trump administration. Notable figures who have frequented the establishment include White House AI adviser David Sacks, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, State Department Under Secretary Jacob Helberg, and entrepreneurs Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss. The club’s history includes operating as a billiards bar before its transformation into a private social club.

Musical Lineup and Past Stances on Political Appearances

Beyond 50 Cent, the reported lineup for Friday’s event includes Timbaland and Ja Rule, a rapper with a history of rivalry with 50 Cent. This engagement comes at an interesting juncture for 50 Cent, whose full name is Curtis James Jackson. In a 2024 interview with The Breakfast Club, the artist revealed he declined a $3 million offer to perform at a rally for President Donald Trump at Madison Square Garden. At the time, 50 Cent expressed a cautious approach to political involvement, stating, “I’m afraid about politics. It’s because when you do get involved in it, no matter how you feel, someone passionately disagrees with you.”

He further elaborated in that interview, suggesting that deep involvement in political matters could lead to confusion, referencing Kanye West’s situation. 50 Cent remarked that after West commented on political issues, his earning potential in the United States reportedly plateaued, limiting his opportunities to perform domestically and suggesting he could “only go to Japan.”

This stance contrasts with an earlier decision in 2019, when 50 Cent reportedly turned down a $500,000 offer to perform at President Trump’s 2017 inauguration, commenting that “every dollar is not a good dollar.”

Context of Entertainment and Political Affiliations

The planned performances at Executive Branch occur in the wake of complications faced by The Great American State Fair’s Freedom 250 concert series, which is reportedly affiliated with President Trump. In the preceding month, several entertainers, including Morris Day, the Commodores, Martina McBride, Milli Vanilli, C+C Music Factory, and Young MC, withdrew from scheduled performances due to concerns over potential political controversies. This backdrop highlights the sensitive nature of artists engaging with politically aligned events and venues.

Conclusion

The upcoming event at Donald Trump Jr.’s Executive Branch club, featuring prominent artists like 50 Cent, Timbaland, and Ja Rule, underscores the venue’s role as a gathering place for influential figures. The reported participation of these artists, particularly 50 Cent, is noteworthy given his past statements regarding political engagements and financial considerations tied to such appearances. The event is set to take place just before the significant milestone of the United States’ 250th anniversary, adding a layer of national significance to the proceedings.
