Recent Exposure Details
Exposures occurred at the Children’s Hospital emergency department waiting room on Saturday from 7:45 p.m. to 11:45 p.m. A second exposure took place in the emergency department itself from 9:45 p.m. to 3:05 a.m. Additionally, individuals at the Access Event Centre — Co-op Arena in Morden attended an event from 9:30 p.m. on February 19 to midnight on February 20 may have been exposed.
Action Steps for Potential Exposure
Anyone present at these sites during the specified times should review their immunization records and confirm they are current with the measles vaccine. Unvaccinated individuals exposed to measles qualify for preventive treatment within six days of exposure and should consult a healthcare provider promptly.
Outbreak Updates and Policy Changes
Authorities now limit exposure notifications to incidents within the past six days. Manitoba records its highest monthly measles cases this February since the outbreak began over a year ago. As of February 14, data shows 82 confirmed cases and eight probable cases.
