Pete Davidson recounts a disturbing childhood incident during a recent private comedy performance, where his grandfather discovered him watching an explicit gay porn video at age eight.
The Bizarre Discovery
Davidson, the 32-year-old comedian, describes accidentally clicking on a video featuring ‘six 70-year-old men’ engaged in graphic acts set to the Andy Griffith Show theme song. “I clicked it, and it was horrible. It’s a video of six 70-year-old men, white guys, b***ing each other to the Andy Griffith theme song,” he shared, whistling the tune for emphasis.
He continued watching out of curiosity, explaining, “I watched the whole thing cuz I was eight, and I was [wondering], ‘What happens?'”
Upon hearing his grandfather return from a Knights of Columbus event, Davidson attempted to close the video, but his grandfather demanded to know what was on the screen.
Grandfather’s Reaction
“He gets downstairs. He goes, ‘What are you watching?’ I go, ‘Nothing.’ He goes, ‘Come on. Is it our favorite girl?’ I go, ‘That’s gross. ‘Cause your favorite girl should be grandma,'” Davidson recalled.
The confrontation escalated when his grandfather grabbed him by the neck and insisted, “Turn on the f***ing screen.” Davidson turned it on with the volume, allowing his grandfather to experience the full scene. His grandfather then punched the screen, shattering the computer, before turning away and declaring, “Peter, we are never to speak of this.”
Family Background
Davidson grew up with a single mother after his father, New York City firefighter Scott Davidson, perished in the September 11 attacks. He maintains a close bond with his paternal grandfather, Stephen, who appeared in his 2020 film The King of Staten Island.
In a separate performance nearly a year ago, Davidson discussed his maternal grandfather, whom he accused of physical abuse. He described the man as “old school, very Irish,” suffering from emphysema and lung cancer. “He used to beat the s*** out of me, and I don’t like him very much,” Davidson stated, adding a harsh wish for his slow decline despite his mother’s sadness.
Davidson is reportedly separated from girlfriend Elsie Hewitt, with whom he shares a four-month-old daughter named Scottie.
