The second of two new Spirit of Tasmania ferries, Spirit of Tasmania V, has docked in Geelong after a seven-week voyage from Scotland. Preparations for Bass Strait passenger services continue as the vessel prepares for upcoming trials.
Testing and Relocation Plans
Gantry testing for the ferry begins tomorrow. Following these checks, the ship will move temporarily to Station Pier in Melbourne for further readiness.
Service Launch Date
Both new vessels stand ready to transport passengers between Victoria and Tasmania starting October 31, enhancing connectivity across the Bass Strait.
