Authorities have arrested a 30-year-old lady accused of throwing a malnourished poodle over a fence behind an Anaheim veterinary clinic.
Surveillance footage captured Tyler Nashae Thompson, 30, tossing a plastic grocery bag over the 8-foot fence and strolling again into an condo advanced, Orange County Dist. Atty. Todd Spitzer stated Thursday in a assertion posted on X. When the bag hit the bottom, a white poodle walked out.
The incident occurred simply after 1:30 a.m. on Nov. 12. The proprietor of the veterinary clinic arrived at work at 6:30 a.m. and located the canine, which was “extraordinarily malnourished,” infested with fleas and lacking a tooth, Spitzer stated.
“This poor canine was subjected to unimaginable struggling by somebody who was purported to look after her. Solely the actually wicked would make the choice to abuse an animal who has no strategy to shield itself after which throw it away like a bit of trash,” Spitzer stated within the assertion.
“The abuse of any defenseless animal is not going to be tolerated and those that have interaction in violence towards animals can be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the legislation.”
OC Animal Care is caring for the canine, the assertion stated.
Thompson was charged with animal cruelty and animal abuse and is being held in Orange County jail in lieu of $50,000 bail, the assertion stated. If convicted, she faces as much as three years in jail. She is due in courtroom Monday.
