Two metropolis sanitation staff have been fatally shot in an obvious murder-suicide on the Glendale Water Reclamation Plant in Atwater Village within the early hours of Tuesday morning, authorities mentioned.
The Los Angeles Police Division responded to a name within the 4600 block of West Colorado Boulevard at 5:30 a.m., in keeping with a division spokesperson.
There, officers discovered the suspected sufferer, a 35-year-old man, and the suspected shooter, a 30-year-old man, affected by shotgun wounds.
Each males have been pronounced lifeless on the scene. Their identities haven’t been launched.
“I’m deeply saddened by the taking pictures deaths of two Metropolis Sanitation workers on the LA Glendale Water Reclamation Plant,” L.A. Mayor Karen Bass mentioned in an announcement. “My coronary heart breaks for this lack of life.”
Bass mentioned there was no ongoing risk to public security and that the tragedy remained below investigation.
The Glendale Water Reclamation Plant, simply east of the 5 Freeway, treats wastewater for reuse in irrigation and industrial processes.
