In an Orange County house complicated, Sidney Bararchi Clarke clashed together with his neighbor over his smoking behavior — till prosecutors say it drove Clarke to kill him. Now he’ll spend 50 years to life in jail.

A Superior Courtroom jury final month convicted Clarke, 31, of homicide and a sentencing enhancement for fatally taking pictures 21-year-old Logan Kahmar, who lived beneath him within the Raintree Residences in Brea.

Kahmar, a younger father who lived together with his girlfriend and toddler daughter, had an everyday behavior of sitting on his balcony to smoke cigarettes and marijuana. It was a routine that prosecutors say slowly grated on Clarke, finally to the purpose that his “anger consumed him,” prosecutors wrote in a sentencing transient filed in courtroom.

Tensions acquired so excessive that Clarke allegedly threw water on Kahmar’s girlfriend as she smoked on her balcony, police stated.

However the scenario got here to go on the night of Aug. 30, 2023, when Kahmar, who was alone together with his toddler daughter, stepped exterior to smoke.

Clarke grabbed a 9mm Glock from his gun secure, went downstairs to Kahmar’s house and shot him a number of occasions, prosecutors wrote within the sentencing transient. Kahmar referred to as 911, screaming that he had been shot.

When police arrived a couple of minutes later, Clarke had fled and Kahmar was lifeless within the house.

Senior Deputy Dist. Atty. Nick Thomo wrote within the sentencing transient that Clarke carried out a “heinous crime” for an “innocuous” act.

Detectives later discovered Clarke’s open gun secure and paperwork matching the darkish SUV that neighbors noticed leaving the taking pictures scene that night time. Clarke was arrested the following day when a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Division deputy noticed him within the automotive in a Starbucks car parking zone.
