Over a month after an 11-year-old boy succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning, authorities in Regina have pinpointed a faulty boiler as the cause. Fire Chief Layne Jackson confirms no evidence of foul play, with ongoing analysis of the boiler underway.
Tragic Incident Details
Henry Losco, the young victim, had relocated to Regina with his parents just two weeks prior to the fatal event. The incident unfolded in their apartment, where the family encountered a silent but deadly gas leak.
From Grief to Advocacy
Marina Hills, Henry’s mother, channels her sorrow into efforts to prevent similar tragedies. She emphasizes the importance of vigilance for renters, advising them to inquire thoroughly about potential hazards in their living spaces.
“You need to ask the right questions and know what is in your house,” Hills states. “You do need those alarms and you need one in every room.”
Following the discovery of her son and husband unconscious in the apartment, Hills has immersed herself in education about carbon monoxide risks. Her mission focuses on raising awareness to protect others from this invisible threat.
