Jamie O’Hara abruptly left the talkSPORT studio during a heated exchange with Jason Cundy, who mocked Tottenham following their 3-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace. The loss marked Spurs’ fifth straight Premier League setback, heightening relegation concerns.
Tottenham’s League Position Slips
Ismaila Sarr scored twice, with Jorgen Stand Larsen adding a third to hand Crystal Palace the win. Tottenham now sit 16th in the table, just one point clear of West Ham in 18th and Nottingham Forest in 17th. Fears mount that the club, still competing in the Champions League, could drop to the second tier for the first time since the 1977/78 season.
Igor Tudor’s Tough Start
Igor Tudor, appointed caretaker manager after Thomas Frank until season’s end, has lost all three opening matches against Arsenal, Fulham, and Palace. Former Tottenham midfielder O’Hara called for Tudor’s immediate dismissal.
O’Hara told Cundy: “The manager’s got to go. He’s got to go. Get rid of him. He’s lost three games on the bounce. We are the only team in the Premier League ever to bring in a new manager to get a new manager bounce and we get a worse bounce.”
He continued: “Honestly, he’s a joke, this club is a joke, the owners are a joke, the players are a joke, the recruitment’s a joke, the staff are a joke, the manager’s a joke. Everything about the football club is an absolute disgrace. Honestly, I’m hurting, I’m actually hurting. It hurts.”
O’Hara added: “I didn’t think it would hurt, because I was like, we’ve had some good moments, won the Europa League last season. This is just awful. This is so bad. This is the worst I’ve ever felt as a Spurs fan, ever.”
Clash with Cundy Escalates
Wearing an Ange Postecoglou mask with clown accessories, ex-Chelsea defender Cundy defended Tudor. “He’s had three games, give him time on the training ground,” Cundy urged.
O’Hara shot back: “Jase come on mate, what are you on about seriously? Do you think he is good enough?” Cundy affirmed: “Yes.” O’Hara retorted: “You’re just talking rubbish because I know that is not true.”
Cundy held firm: “I’ve seen signs. Encouraging signs.” This pushed O’Hara to stand and exit, saying: “It’s pointless doing a show with you mate. You’re not being serious, you’re just an idiot.”
Cundy informed listeners: “Jamie has walked out, we’re going to hear from the interim manager of Spurs, Igor Tudor.” O’Hara later returned to finish the show.
O’Hara Predicts Relegation
The 39-year-old remains downbeat, confirming Spurs face the drop: “Yes.” He criticized the squad: “This team is terrible. The players are terrible. They’re Championship players.”
Naming individuals, O’Hara said: “Pape Sarr is a Championship player. Conor Gallagher. How he played for Atletico Madrid, I’ll never know. He’s been awful.”
He continued: “Souza, who’s this kid. He looks like he’s got two left feet. Honestly, it’s embarrassing. Seriously, the team is absolutely awful.”
On Mathys Tel: “A donkey could have told you last season that he was garbage… He ain’t good enough. And we signed him on a permanent. It’s unbelievable.”
Fixtures Ahead
Tottenham face Atletico Madrid in the Champions League round of 16 first leg in Spain on Tuesday. They then travel to Anfield next Sunday to meet champions Liverpool, without suspended Micky van de Ven after his red card.
