Authorities raided a shop on Lichfield Street in Wolverhampton city centre today, April 29, targeting suspected drug dealing activities. West Midlands Police, alongside Wolverhampton council’s Trading Standards, executed a warrant and discovered illegal drugs, including cannabis edibles and vapes, along with suspected counterfeit goods.

Two Men Arrested

Officers arrested two men, aged 20 and 43, on suspicion of possession with intent to supply drugs. Both remain in custody for questioning.

Details of the Raid

West Midlands Police acted on intelligence about drug dealing at the premises. A sniffer dog assisted in the search, leading to the seizure of various illegal drugs and counterfeit items.

West Midlands Police stated: “We acted on information about suspected drug dealing linked to the premises in Lichfield Street and worked with Trading Standards to carry out a raid. Searches were carried out with the help of a sniffer dog and a range of illegal drugs, including cannabis edibles and cannabis vapes, were seized. A number of suspected counterfeit items were also found.”

This operation forms part of ongoing efforts to combat drug dealing in Wolverhampton and the wider West Midlands region.

Commitment to Tackling Crime

The force emphasized its zero-tolerance approach to illegal activities. Officers frequently collaborate with Trading Standards, HMRC, and other agencies to address drug sales, anti-social behaviour, and disorder based on received intelligence.

Officials added: “We won’t tolerate illegal activities… If there’s evidence of criminal activity, or links to organised crime, then we will always look to secure charges and seek closure orders on premises.”

Residents are encouraged to share information to help curb illegal activities. Contact options include the force’s Live Chat on their website, calling 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
