Three men face trial for the alleged murder of a 35-year-old man using a pitchfork and other weapons in Douglas, Lanarkshire.
Details of the Alleged Attack
Christopher Michael Mullen, 22, Ryan Mullen, 42, and Christopher Mullen, 44, stand accused of pursuing Joseph Buchanan on a street in Douglas on April 13, 2025, before striking him repeatedly with a pitchfork, a knife, and a sword or similar instrument.
Court Proceedings and Pleas
Defense attorneys entered not guilty pleas on behalf of all three men during a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow. Prosecutors have scheduled the trial for March 2027.
Additional Charges
The men also face charges of attempting to pervert the course of justice. Additionally, Christopher Mullen, 44, faces a separate charge of recklessly destroying property in Wishaw, Lanarkshire, by breaking windows and damaging a car, in concert with others.
