SACRAMENTO — The U.S. Division of Justice sued California on Monday to dam newly handed legal guidelines that prohibit regulation enforcement officers, together with federal immigration brokers, from sporting masks and that require them to establish themselves.

The legal guidelines, handed by the California Legislature and signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom, got here within the wake of the Trump administration’s immigration raids in California, when masked, unidentified federal officers jumped out of autos this summer season as a part of the president’s mass deportation program.

Atty. Gen. Pamela Bondi stated the legal guidelines have been unconsitutional and endanger federal officers.
